What it calculates
The worksheet subtracts the sum of four mutually exclusive result buckets from your expected result-row count. It also displays the number held in uncertain categories. Use the bucket definitions in your own reviewed mapping; do not mix overlapping counts.
What it cannot establish
Matching arithmetic does not prove row identity, correct classification, permission, vendor accuracy or successful reimport. A duplicate and a missing record can cancel each other numerically. Use the separate join exceptions and suppression checks as well.
Try a fictional case
Enter 1,000 expected rows, 900 favourable, 50 unfavourable, 30 risky and 20 unknown. The counts reconcile and 50 remain uncertain. If unknown changes to 19, one row is unaccounted for. No address, file upload or account connection is needed; inputs remain in this browser and are not saved.
Put it into practice
The worksheet requires five whole-number inputs. Blank is not zero: it means you have not supplied a count, so the calculation asks for all fields. Negative numbers, fractions and values outside its bounded range are rejected. The example button inserts a clearly fictional case; clearing removes those values. No network request is needed for the arithmetic. A positive difference means expected rows remain unaccounted for; a negative difference means the entered buckets exceed the expected count. Either should lead to investigation of the denominator, overlapping buckets or duplicate/missing results. A zero difference is deliberately not labelled “safe to send.” The worksheet cannot inspect identities or compare files and should not receive personal data. Use it alongside the row-identity and join-exception guides, then record only actual observed counts in the handoff receipt. A tidy numerical result is one part of the process, not an approval of the underlying list.
